The Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee has urged Governor Ved Marwah to come out with a blue print, listing short and long term measures for providing employment to the youths of the State.
In a representation submitted to the Governor, the Youth Congress said while the Government should resort to downsizing as to trim the inflated departments, it is also equally important that the Government do not shirk its responsibilities of providing employment opportunities to the educated youths of the State.
The representation further said that the most important component of economic development is communication and urged the Governor to convert the highway into double lanes.
More funds should be earmarked for developing and improving the highways, said the Youth Congress.
District headquarters should also be connected by roads.
On POTO, the representation urged the State Government to oppose the Ordinance as it has it has too many loopholes which can be abused.
He was urged to include eight Assembly constituencies which fall under the Outer Parliamentary seat to the Inner LS seat to enable its residents contest the Parliamentary election.
The eight Assembly segments are Hiyanglam, Wabagai, Sugnu, Kakching, Heirok, Wangjing Tentha, Khangabok and Jiribam.
Stating the non release of salaries for the last three months have given immense hardships to the employees, the representation urged the Governor to ensure early release of the same.
